| GREEN CLUBS |
| What is a GREEN club?
Green Clubs are the main carrier of the schools’ change. Under an advisor, 25 selected students meet weekly to learn about and to act upon four environmental themes relevant for the school community, namely: energy, water, waste and transportation. The students are split in four working groups, and each of which is assigned to work on one of the four environmental themes.

| GREEN PROJECTS: |

| Mirce Acev’s Green Club takes care of the environment! |
The Green Club of Murce Acev Primary School (Skopje), during the assessment of the negative impact of the school on the environment, came to conclusion that it needs to address particular issues related to all four themes: waste, water, energy and transportation. In order to improve the hygiene in the school, the Club decided to place garbage cans in the school building and the school yard. It also contributed towards improved energy efficiency by changing the incandescent light bulbs with neon lamps and by placing a sensor-controlled lightening in one of the toilets. The Club also decided to construct a bike parking in the school yard in order to promote bike-riding. These activities were finished in September 2009.
